Formed in 2021, Tin Carnation has been bringing music to the people of downtown Berkeley as part of the post-pandemic live music resurgence. They bring an energetic and innovative approach to jazz, soul, and funk classics, along with developing a growing repertoire of original songs. Featuring Ezra Player (guitar), Sam Essex (bass guitar), Jacob Epstein (drums), Ethan Brandt (trumpet), Kyle Fooks (saxophone), and Amanda Magaña (vocals), Tin Carnation’s music provides atmospheres ranging from mellow to manic. While they are educated and experienced young musicians, at its core Tin Carnation is six friends who love to jam.
